Meet Adriane // The Wild

Happy Friday loves! If you haven't heard of The Wild kids apparel yet, today is the day! Adriane has done such an amazing job making a kids line that is simplistic and playful all at the same time. My kids loved them right away and so did I :) All the drawings on the tees and onesies are original. I love that there are different collections that all have a theme throughout! Does your little one have a favorite animal? There's so many to choose from and they're all unisex, so again there's the sustainability factor that I love! Being able to pass clothes from sibling to sibling and making clothes last longer is something I'll always be a huge fan of! In Addition to all that, Adriane so super sweet and such a joy to work with! I love her vision for this company and with all that she's already done in such a short period of time, I can't even imagine what else is up her sleeve! Check out the cute items she sent us below to get an idea of the modern, yet whimsical creatures she displays on every piece! All the tees and onesies are American Apparel so you know you're getting great quality and super soft 100% cotton.

It's William the Walrus

...and Otis the Octopus. (swim trunks: Of One Sea)

And then of course there's Lars the Lumberjack! (beanie from Pieces to Peaces, flannel H&M)

So many good designs with so much character! I'm so glad I found this great company and am honored I get to share with you all! Now that you've seen a bit of what the shop is all about, let's meet the woman behind the business! Adriane is not only the owner of this brand, and the artist behind every drawing, but she's also a busy mommy to two little ones! I was able to get in a little Q&A sesh with her ( see below).

Adriane with her youngest

Such a cute family!

What made you choose the name The Wild?
My illustrations began with a series of animals, and although I thought of many other cute names, I kept coming back to The Wild. It just sounded right to me.
Who/What inspired you to make the jump of starting your own business?
I started out years ago painting, and I used to paint these characters for children's rooms. They did really well, and I knew then that I wanted to do more with my illustrations. I was inspired by my kids and by the encouragement of my husband and my parents, they all believed in me SO much, it gave me the push I needed.
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
Time management, without a doubt. With two little ones at home and a husband that works crazy hours, I usually get to work in five minute increments, but that's mom life for you!
What has been the biggest reward?
Seeing other people's little ones wearing The Wild, it's pretty surreal for me. And now that The Wild is being carried in several little boutiques, it's just so exciting!
What is something you hope to accomplish in the next couple years?
I want to continue to build upon The Wild and the story I want to tell with this brand. I have many other products and designs that I will be adding. I have to pace myself but I'm SO excited about it all.
Describe what a typical day looks like for you.
The majority of my day is focused on my kids, and I squeeze in as much work as I can. I tend to stay up far too late printing, emailing, packaging orders. If there is a decent nap happening during the day then I frantically attack my to-do list then as well. When I'm crazy busy and a big part of the day has to be focused on my work, I try to make the kids feel like we are working together. I'll set up my area to print and then give them each a little activity to do, and they're favorite game is to guess what the animal is going to be when I lift up my silk screen.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you HAVE to have?
My husband, and my two boys!

Thanks so much for sharing Adriane! I know you'll do big things! I mean, you already are ;) I'm so looking forward to seeing what else you've got cooking over there! Make sure you're following her Instagram (@thewildkidsapparel) so you can be the first to know about sales and upcoming releases! Also go check out her website to see more of her super cute designs! Meet Jennifer // Huxbaby

I'm so, SO excited to introduce you to Jennifer and her perfectly designed kids apparel, Huxbaby! Not only are the items extremely well made and simplistic in design, but they are all certified organic! That means your littles not only look like they're on top of it when it comes to fashion, but they're playing in comfort and supporting a company who cares deeply for the environment and your children. I also love that every piece is unisex. That's right, pass those items down from brother to sister and vice versa because they look great on both just the same! Not to mention the quality is there, so they can hold up long enough to pass down. This is something that Jennifer had envisioned when designing kids apparel. She wanted the clothes to be able to stay in the family and be reused. Another great thought for our environment and one that is super practical for growing families. But these cute clothes aren't ones that will go out of style! Jennifer has put a lot of thought into keeping these designs not only gender neutral, but classic, timeless, modern, and minimalistic. That way you can pair her pieces with almost anything and they'll look perfect! Think Adult fashion that can translate into kids'. I honestly can't think of anything better! Just check out these patterns...

There's also a great variety of items to choose from; blankets, rompers, bibs, leggings, sweaters, t-shirts, dresses and more! Basically she has everything :) I'm so impressed with the variety of prints and how versatile they are! Go check out her website for more! Scroll below to see the cute star leggins she sent us and to learn a little bit about Jennifer and her shop!

The leggings are so super soft and are definitely built to last! Now that you have a little preview of Jennifer's modern simplistic kids clothing, let's get to know her a little bit shall we? I had the opportunity to ask her a few questions to share with you all so we could get a pulse on the woman behind the business (my favorite part). It's nice to know who you are supporting as well as shopping small, wouldn't you agree?

the beautiful and talented Jennifer :)

Where did the name, Huxbaby come from?

My husband thought it up, its short, sharp and snappy!

Who or what inspired you to make the jump and start a baby clothing line?

Frustration about the lack of simple, funky and UNISEX clothing for babies and kids.

What is the biggest thing you've learned about starting your own business that you could share with others thinking of doing the same?

Its so much hard work, definitely not a walk in the park and takes a lot of commitment and perseverance, oh and of course passion :)

How would you describe your personal style?

Minimalist, basic, stylish

If you could teleport anywhere in the world for one day, where would it be?

Cape Town in South Africa - that view, that sea, that sun!

Ooohhh Cape Town sounds amazing! Thanks so much for sharing Jennifer! I'm so happy that I was able to share your  apparel and get to know you a little better! I love and respect your commitment to the environment and sustainability as well as style and comfort. That combo is hard to come by! Thanks for going the extra mile! I seriously wish you all the best as your business grows and am so looking forward to all the amazing items that have yet to be created :)
