Meet Anita // Bird Apparel

If you haven't heard of Bird Apparel yet, I'm super stoked to be the one to introduce you!!! I cannot express enough how wonderful this company is! First of all, The lovely Anita is the lady behind everything you see in the shop! She's extremely talented and has a great eye for design, style, patterns, and fit!! I'm speaking from experience as always, because the items she sent my daughter and I are topping the charts right now! When you touch the fabric you immediately think quality and comfort! The fabric is not so thin it would fall apart, but not too thick and heavy. It's literally perfection... stretchy, movable, breathable, comfortable!! Here's a little excerpt from her "about" section in her shop and I'd highly encourage you to read more!

"I design, draft, cut, print and sew my entire collection from my home just outside of Toronto, Canada which I share with my husband and two children. Each Bird Apparel garment is handcrafted with a focus on quality fabrics, comfort, fit and construction. I combine clean minimalistic lines with a relaxed fit adding the occasional bold pattern or unexpected pattern detail while still keeping the designs modern and clean. The Bird Apparel line is easy-going, great for layering and can be worn in all seasons from day to night."

Her pieces are so unique and yet so simple. Simple enough to pair with so many things you probably already own, yet they are unique enough to stand on their own! I seriously love what she's done and that she takes so much pride in the quality and design of the items she creates! I'm excited to show you what Anita sent us!

my girl, always dancing ;)

watermelon leggings & watermelon crop top (we're OBSESSED)

her leggings are paired with a simple chambray dress (Lands End) and my crop top is paired with a basic black maxi skirt (Target). Nyah's flats are Old Navy and my sandals are from Target.

let me just tell you that Anita is so awesome that she extended these size 8 leggings for my long legged girl!! It's almost impossible for me to find a pair that fits her bc she's so tall and lanky, but Anita solved my problem! These beauties fit her PERFECTLY in the waist and length and stretch beautifully! in love!

This splatter print headband is Bird Apparel as well. So simple, yet unique. I love that its black and white... more opportunities to wear it :)

my skirt is made of the same fabric! The skirt is a little higher in the front than in the back giving it a unique look! Its called a "curved hem" mini skirt and again the fabric is perfectly stretchy and comfortable! (top is from F21 and heels are from Target)

you could totally wear flats/sandals with it to give it a more casual feel, or throw some heels on and rock a more dressed up look! So versatile which is what I'm all about!

Anita is such a hard working, creative, dedicated woman. Another gem that I would be thrilled to meet in person one day! I love her story and the influence she's grown up around! She was obviously made to do this and its so obvious! She just like many of us, a super busy mom who has priorities in many places, which equals major multitasking and priority adjusting, but she's done an amazing job and I'm so inspired by her. I'll let you read our little interview below so you can get a better picture!

         Anita and her adorable family!!

How did Bird Apparel come about?

Since I was very young I have always loved fashion and creating clothing.  I come from a family of tailors and seamstresses, so it’s in my blood.  I have a diploma in Fashion Design and have worked in the textile industry as well, but it wasn’t until I was off work raising my children that I started the Bird Apparel line.  It was something I could do to make some extra money while still being home for them.  Flash forward a few years and it’s still going strong and better than ever, with a kids line too!

What is something you've learned from starting you're own business?

Be patient and persistent!  Success will not come overnight, but if you believe in yourself and your product everything will fall into place.  It took a long time to get to this point, and I’m still growing!  Making connections with others and putting myself out there on social media and in real life has truly helped to propel my business forward.

Who/what has inspired you the most along this journey?

My family and friends for all their love and support.  Also, the numerous mompreneurs who have made a successful business while raising a family.

What is a goal you hope to achieve in the near future?

I would like to keep expanding my kids line to include dresses and tees for both boys and girls.  Some of this is already in the works!

Describe a typical day in the life of Anita...

Wake up.  Get the kids up.  Make lunches while one kid eats breakfast and shout at the other one to get out of bed.  My youngest loves to sleep!!  Once the kids are off to school, I clean up the hurricane they have left behind, eat breakfast, work out and then shower.  Next, I typically check e-mails/orders, cut, print fabric, sew, iron, package and then make my way to the post office.  Sometimes I eat lunch.  When the kids get home, we spend some time talking about their days, then unpack backpacks and I finish up any work and new listings.  Then I make dinner and we try to eat as a family when my husband comes home.  That doesn’t always happen as we have a few nights where we rush to to guitar, soccer or swimming.  At night, we usually relax and watch a bit of tv before bed and I get some cleaning and laundry done during commercials armed with a cup of tea or glass of wine.

What is something super quirky about you?

I’m a neat freak!  OCD I think.  I’m constantly picking up little specks of dirt on the floor that no one would even notice.  I can’t relax until everything is neat and organized.

Thanks so so much for sharing Anita!!! I love what you're doing and cannot wait to see more of what you come up with in the future. I'm so hooked on your shop and amazing customer service!! You already know this :) I think you're wonderful so keep doing what you're doing and eventually everyone else will figure it out!!

Anita is being super sweet and sharing a little discount code with all you lovely readers!! Just go to her website ( and enter the code "CHIRP15" to receive 15% off your purchase!! Make sure you are following her on instagram too (@birdapparel) so you can be the first to know about new releases and sales!! Happy Weekend!!

Meet Sera // Mulberry Press Co.

I'm so excited to be featuring Sera and her amazing company! I randomly found her on IG about a year ago and fell in love with all her gorgeous prints ( I still have some hanging on the walls in our home)! The quality and uniqueness of them made them true stand outs! Then she started adding in mugs! Obviously those have been a huge hit as well, so it only makes sense that she's taken her creativity and put it on things we can wear! All of her designs are printed on the super soft American Apparel tees and tanks, so you can feel like you're wearing your pj's while looking fab (win, win right?) Best part is, She makes them for adults and kids! I can't tell you how many compliments we got on our threads just wearing them one day. They are simple statement pieces that pretty much go with anything! It doesn't get much better than that! She has waaayyy more great items for you to check out in her shop,, but I'll give you a peak at the rad apparel she sent us recently!

so yeah... this tee is a new fav of mine :)

I bet you can't look at this tee without singing the song!

Yup, just spreading good vibes in this super soft tank. Its not super tight, not super loose. Its basically perfect :)

I almost never pose them... this pic is 100% authentic. Ryder told me I couldn't photograph him until he stretched a little haha. But I'm diggin his good vibes in this photo :)

"heart breaker" tank  +  "good vibes" tee

I'm so incredibly glad to have met such a fabulous lady. You guys, Sera is one of the most humble, talented, determined, sweet, hard working, creative chicks I know. I'm so honored to be representing her and all the amazing things she's created! Everything she does is quality and she puts so much thought into every detail! Even her packaging is on point! You feel like you're receiving a gift not just a package. She puts heart into what she does and its so so obvious. When you shop small you are directly supporting someone's dream. In this case, you're supporting someone who is extremely good at what she does and clearly has a great vision for the growth of her company. I just have to rave about her because she's down right amazing and I love what she's done and how she treats everyone she meets. Ok, I'll just let you see how cool she is for yourself :) I did a fun little interview with her below so you can get to know a little more about Sera and her stellar shop!

The effortless beauty behind Mulberry Press Co.

How did the name Mulberry Press Co. come about?

To make a long explanation short, the growth of a mulberry tree is a lot like how I envisioned growing my business. Starting with the concept of one media and growing it into a full product range store. A mulberry tree is a specific type of tree that produces rice paper which is used in all types of things - clothing, food, paper products, etc. When deciding on a name that best symbolized what I wanted for my business, Mulberry seemed to capture my complete vision. That may sound weird and cheesy but I guess that's my personality! Haha!

What made you decide to start your business?

I've been working in corporate design for years and although it's been a great learning experience, I've always felt like it wasn't entirely fulfilling. I really wanted full range to be able to design what I was passionate about and part of that passion is spreading a bigger vision of positivity, social interaction & building relationships. My favorite part of my business to this day is seeing the smiles and happiness of each person who orders from my shop.

Whats something you've learned from the experience?

I have a long list of things that I've learned, but the best lesson has been learning to trust in myself and my decisions. I've found that owning my own business has given me a great sense of self with who I am as a woman, a wife, a friend and a business owner. Being able to believe in myself and what I'm passionate about is one of the most fulfilling things and I'm so happy that I found that with my business. It has definitely taught me a lot about the type of person I am and what I strive to be every day.

What are some of your biggest goals for the year?

Some of my biggest goals for this year would be expanding my business to offer more products, bringing on help (ahh!), collaborating with awesome shops & updating my business plans for the next couple years.

What does a day in the life of Sera look like?

I get up around 4:15 am and (after coffee, of course) it's work work and more work! Somewhere in there I get in time with my main squeeze and we usually spend it watching movies. :)

What's something quirky about you?

I have a crazy obsession with stickers, pillows and mugs. Like, crazy to the point where we have 20 pillows on our sofa, boxes full of stickers I've collected over the years and enough mugs for every person on earth. Hahaha!

If you could have any super power what would it be?
Well, flying would be cool (so I could visit all the rad shops around the world) but if I could make up my own it would definitely be the power to change moods. :)

Thanks so much, Sera, for allowing me the opportunity to feature you and brag about you just a bit :) I'm so happy that our paths crossed and that you are living out your dream girl! You are extremely inspirational! Thanks for letting me grill you! I loved reading your answers and I'm sure others will too! I wish you all the best in the future of your business and am so excited to see what else you come up with!!

If you want to make a purchase head over to her website ( and use the code "LITTLES20" to receive 20% off your purchase!!! I'd hurry though, because this code only last till the end of TODAY!!

A Brief Little Introduction

our attempt at a family photo at the beach last week haha

Hey blog & IG friends (new and old), I thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself since I havn't really done that apart from when I started this whole thing! I'm a wife of ten years (in aug) and a SAH mommy of three, though I've always had some kind of part time job in addition to my main job ;). I live in the DC area and have grown up here almost my whole life! For the past three years I've taught dance to all ages at a studio and prior to that I was dancing professionally for the Washington Wizards (NBA) and the Washington Redskins (NFL) for a bout 4 years total on and off. My husband is a rock star and fully supported me while dancing in between having children.  I've been dancing for as long as I can remember and it's remained a passion if mine. Now seeing my daughter enjoy it just as much and excel and shine in dance has made it all the more fulfilling in ways I never dreamed. It's now something we share.

I started this little blog and IG of mine about 4 months ago. I have friends who started their own business and I'd started making new friends through IG and started thinking... I want to know more about the cool people behind all these amazing shops and I bet others do too! We all like shopping and hunting for a great deal but I didn't want people to forget that there's major love that goes into each item and that there's a story behind how the shop started that maybe we could appreciate or relate to even! Life is all about relationships! They make this big world seem smaller and richer and if I can help connect people in addition to great quality small shops/product, then my mission is complete! I love it! I love meeting new people and learning their story and I just figured I can't be the only one!! So many of these shop owners are down right amazing and deserve all the respect in the world for being kings/queens of multitasking and not giving up on pursuing a dream no matter how big or small! That was long, but my story in a nutshell guys ;) I'm always up for emails, questions, whatevs! I read every comment and appreciate every like. It means that you support what I'm doing and the shops I represent! And it really makes all of this worth the effort! Thank you for following, liking, reading, and commenting xoxoxo happy Monday babes!!

Meet Marissa // Be Still Clothing Co.

I'm all about companies that are based on truth and that spread a positive message to impact others! Be still Clothing Co. is no exception! Marissa has done a really great job of taking bible verses as her starting point to creating tees, hats, and even pillows that have a reminder on it that we all need! here's a little snip it from her website where she explains what they're all about:

"Be Still Clothing Company was started in December 2013 as a means to bring hope to the hopeless, strength to the weak, and comfort to those in pain. Exodus 14:14 says 'The Lord will fight for you; you need only to BE STILL,' and Psalm 46:10 says 'BE STILL and know that I am God.' These verses have been a source of strength to so many in their time of need.  Be Still Clothing Company wants to share this truth with others through our clothing in a fashionable and comfortable way."

I LOVE that! We can wear reminders for ourselves and for others to see! The reality is, we all go through rough times, but how wonderful that Marissa has created these biblical truths for us to wear proudly! Not only that but she has a great sense of style, so it's easy to want to sport something so meaningful and comforting when its beautifully designed!

This "be you bravely" baseball tee is based on Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

This particular tee is meant to remind us to be nothing less than who God created us to be!

It's a men's/unisex style in size so this is an XS. You could always order larger for a baggier fit.

Marissa is clearly devoted to being a good friend, even to people she doesn't know! She's so inspiring to me and clearly has taken on this bible verse with conviction! I'm so glad that she created this company and am more than honored to support her in her venture! I'm so glad that I was able to get to know her a little better through a little interview we had! If you've wondered who the lovely lady is behind the company check it out!

Marissa and her stunning little family!

How did Be Still Clothing Co come about

I started this company after my family went through a few really tough patches. During this time I found tremendous strength in Exodus 14:14 and Psalm 46:10. After we made it through these tough times {and I know more are coming... God promises us that!} I knew I wanted to share this amazing truth with others who might be struggling.

Who or what has inspired you the most on this adventure?

Obviously the Lord and His message is the inspiration behind this business. It is all for His glory!! :)

If there's one thing you've learned from starting your own business that you'd want to pass on to others, what would it be?

Be organized! This is a constant struggle for me! I feel like if I was more organized I could save myself a lot of time and energy! I am working on it, but I definitely have a long way to go!

What is a typical day in the life of Marissa?

Every day is so different! I try to wake up before my girls and have a big cup of tea and read my bible. Then we all get ready and go to the gym. I work out while the girls hang out in the kids club (which they LOVE).The rest of the day consists of running errands, preschool, work, naps for Kennedy, playdates, and anything else that might pop up! No two days are alike and they are ALWAYS exciting and adventurous! Hehe.

If you could have any super power what would it be?

Like everyone else, I would love to fly. How awesome would that be?!?!?

What is something really quirky about you?

I CAN NOT put a dry q-tip in my ear. Seriously, it grosses me out to even think about it! I have to get it wet first. (W_E_I_R_D_O!) ;)

Great advice to stay organized! That's definitely my down fall. I have to work SO hard to stay organized, but being a mother of three has definitely made me improve to survive haha! And flying would 100% be my answer as well! I use to dream of it constantly as a child :) Thanks for sharing your inspiration behind the company and for starting this whole thing in the first place! I hope it continues to spread like wildfire!

If you want to check out all the other cute options she has on her website head to and use the code:"thelittleslife" to receive 10% off your purchase!! Make sure to follow on Instagram as well (@bestillclothingcompany) to be the first to jump at flash sales and new releases!! Thanks again Marissa!!

Meet Bri & Tyler // Tribe is Alive

I met Bri a while back when she and Tyler had just started Tribe is Alive. I was immediately impressed! All their tees are so playful and fun! Perfect for kids right? I mean I'm not gonna lie, I've wanted many of their tees for myself as well so you know they have a good thing going ;) This Oklahoma based husband/wife team have a unique style all of their own. they keep all their funny, playful tees current by using lyrics we all recognize and love! They'll either make you laugh or spread good vibes, and who wouldn't appreciate that?! Every design is created by them and printed on the softest tees possible! I'm completely in love with this brand! My kids love wearing their tees and it never fails that they get major compliments every time we leave the house with them on! I snapped some photos of my littles in the ones that we have, but you MUST check out their website for more!!

Nyah wearing "strawberry fields forever"

Ryder rocking his "summa summa summertime" tank

headed to the pool in his fav tank!! He's obsessed with this one! Of course because he loves the song and his fav color is green. When I say favorite I mean its the only color that exists to him haha ;)

He totally makes me want to be 5 again

I totally should have taken a video... his dance moves KILL me!

Now that you've seen a small portion of what they create, let me introduce you to Bri and Tyler! I did a short interview with Bri and am stoked to bring it to you! These two not only make a really cute baby, but they are the coolest, most down to earth, creative, determined couple! They put a lot of thought and creativity into what they do and we all get to benefit from it!

Bri and Tyler with their little cutie! Lookin' sharp guys :D!

How did you come up with the name "Tribe is Alive"?

Tyler actually came up with the name. We wanted something that would somehow represent us as people that way we weren't tempted to change our name in the future. Our name touches mostly on his Native American heritage, which is also our daughters now.

What made you decide to start your company?
My husband is a high school art teacher. He's always been interested in making his own tees, but didn't quite know where to start. We decided on the path of making screen printed tees for little ones when we found out we were having a baby of our own. Just like he'd always say "I wish I could find a shirt that says _____" or has such & such artwork, we'd say the same for our baby on the way. She's the biggest inspiration behind our designs.

What's one of the biggest things you've learned from starting your own business?

It's hard. So hard. And you're going to fail ten times to every one time you succeed. Perseverance is key.

What is a goal you'd like to reach in the near future?

We really just want to continue to keep doing what we're already doing now. We'd love continued success. We are so very thankful with how far we've already come, it has truly surpassed our expectations. The ability to see peoples little ones dressed in our tees makes us incredibly happy & proud & we'd just love to have that continue on.

Describe a typical day for you guys?

While school is in session week nights consist of answering emails & printing when we get the chance. Weekends are definitely for printing & trying to create new designs. We're more than ready for summer so we can focus a bit more on the business & keeping our customers satisfied. On my days off, emails are answered while our daughter naps & post office runs are always in order.

What is something quirky about you?

I'm really boringly normal.

If you could be BFF's with any celebrity who would you choose?

I'd choose an athlete, Kevin Durant. I know my husband would say the same. He's the most kind hearted, hard working guy out there, plus he looks like he'd be a lot of fun to hang out with!

Haha I doubt you have NOTHING quirky about you, but I guess I'll respect that you want to be a little mysterious ;) I love your advice to persevere through the mistakes when starting a business! Its so true and such a great reminder to not get so discouraged that you give up! Thanks for sharing with us a little about you guys and how you got started! Glad that our paths crossed and that I get to represent such a stellar company!

You guys HAVE to check them out! and if you want to purchase one or more of your favs for less, just use the code: "Thelittleslife"  to receive 15% off your entire purchase! Make sure to also follow them on instagram (@tribeisalive) so you can be the first to see their newest releases and sales!!Thanks Bri and Tyler!!

Meet Megan // Victory Day & Co.

Now here is a feature that I'm so so stoked about!!! I've been so excited for the opportunity to share this one!! You see, Megan is actually a friend of mine. So it's been REALLY hard for me to wait for her launch to be able to share her beautiful creations with you! Now that she's been up and running for a couple months, it's time to show you what my friend is made of and how proud I am that she is pursuing something she is so so good at! Let me just tell you, when I started my blog a few months ago I contacted her right away to see if she would help make it "pretty" :). Everything you see here... the beautiful water color, the logo, any pretty details... it was all Megan! She was kind enough to offer her artistic abilities to me and she really hit the nail on the head! I didn't even know what I wanted, but she did haha! I feel like her art work could completely stand alone, but she's added witty sayings, inspiration, and bible verses to them. They make wonderful gifts (house warming, baby nursery, etc) and really add that little bit of extra to a room. I'll brag for her and go ahead and tell you that shortly after opening her shop on etsy, a local boutique found her and has added her artwork to the store!! I seriously couldn't be more happy for her! She sent me a few prints that I couldn't wait to put up!! I'll show you them as an example, but you REALLY need to look at her shop ( to see more!

Her floral ampersand (clipboard on the right) was the perfect addition to my gallery wall!

"I will hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection" (print in the center)

left to right: yellow bungalow shop print, my DIY floral "N", victory day and co print, moon & wanderlust dreamcatcher, and mulberry press co. print.

I couldn't have asked for something more fitting for my daughters bedroom! Such a perfect reminder for her written beautifully and decorated in the most beautiful watercolor blooms!

Now that you've seen a couple of Megan's creations, I'm thrilled to introduce you to her!! She's the sweetest most caring woman you'll ever meet, hands down! She's an amazing mommy with strong convictions. She's a friend that will drop everything to run to your side and rescue you, day or night. She's a woman of strength and grace, beautiful on the inside and out. I'm so glad that you get to meet her. It makes her prints that much more beautiful! Here's the little Q&A I did with her...

Meg and her beautiful family!!

How did you come up with the name “Victory Day & Co.”?

I was trying to think of a name for this shop when my mom was over one day. She was throwing out shop names + suggested the word victory. I loved itVictory is a word we use when something major has been accomplished. Wreaths (which I paint a lot of) have been a beautiful symbol of victory since the very first Olympian games in 776BC, where victors would be adorned with laurel wreaths on their heads. The word victory has an even deeper meaning than anything you or I could ever accomplish. That is the victory that Jesus had by taking our place on the cross. Jesus is the giver of life and he gives to us fully. He came, died and was resurrected and through these amazing events He gave us victory over our sin and death. It’s because of this victory that we can pursue life to the fullest. The freedom this victory brings to me is what ultimately motivates me daily, and it’s what this shop is named after.

What inspired you to create your own shop?

A combination of things has worked together to inspire me! I’ve wanted to pursue “something” creative for a while but had too many ideas floating around. I just had to hone in on one thing that I really loved, that I could work on after my kids went to bed. I decided to show my watercolors to an artist I had never met named Alison Fennell that I knew about through her successful shop "Eastwitching" on Etsy, and just crossed my fingers that she’d get back to me. SHE DID! And she was so encouraging and helpful. She was a huge inspiration and told me exactly what I needed to start a shop. She, believing in me, inspired me not just to start this shop, but to continue reaching out to people I dearly respect when I need real advice and feedback. My husband was/is extremely supportive and came alongside me to help me get everything in place to start selling high-quality pieces that look as legit as the originals. When I felt like giving up and washing my hands clean of pursuing this endeavor, he wouldn’t let me. He pulled pieces of my art out of the trash when I’d chuck them and told me I was amazing and needed to continue pursuing what made me happy. Having someone believe in you like that is huge.  And… I just have the best friends and sisters and sister-in-laws in the world. They have been supportive and a major inspiration. I’m thankful for all these people. I feel like everyone deserves someone to believe in them and support them and I feel super thankful to have that.

What’s something you’ve learned from starting your own business that you could share with us?

I don’t know that I have anything new to share! One thing I’m learning right now is to enjoy the process. I can get so goal-oriented want to see the finished product right away instead of enjoying the time it takes to create something beautiful or learn something new.  Also, I feel like it’s important to know your limits and to be OK with them. A couple of people that I really respect and have wanted to get to know have asked me to work on custom projects, and I’ve had to say no to them for right now. That’s just a bummer to not have “time” to work on something that could lead to exposure or open the door to other creative opportunities or new friendships. But I think it’s good. It’s good to know your limits and know what you have time to pursue and it’s good to remember what’s most important in your life. For me it’s my fam + my children’s education +  still making time to serve people. Victory Day & Co. is my favorite hobby that I'm working tremendously hard on, but it's not my life.

What is something you want to accomplish in the coming year?

One personal thing I'm working on is taking care of my health. Not just skinny but healthy and strong and rested. I don't know what accomplishment would look like specifically but I can't wait to start seeing muscle build. ;)

What is a typical day in the life of Megan?

Gotta start it off with a shower and a good breakfast or I'm a mess!! ;) We use our weekdays to go to the library or get together with other families or field trips, but most days we’re at home in our sweats doing school. We do schoolwork till about 10:30and they’ll play together or we’ll run over to the park till about noon when we’re home for lunch. My son Grayson is still taking naps, so during that time my daughter Sky and I will do her math lesson and maybe paint together. I also try to prep for dinner while Gray’s taking a nap or at least figure out what in the world I’ll be making. We try to go to the pool a couple times a week at the YMCA so we’ll do that right after he wakes up… then our evening prob looks a lot like the rest of yours: Daddy comes home, we’ll eat dinner and then play. My kids love to play hide-and-seek in the dark with a flashlight with Jonathan when he’s home while I clean up the kitchen. Once my kids are in bed, I get to work!

If you could be bff’s with any celebrity who would it be?

I think it might be Zooey Deschanel. Love that girl.

What is something really quirky about you?

so many things… I’m super weird. When I accidentally drop something, my reflexes make the muscles in my chin tense up, giving me the stupidest 1-second duck face ever.

Thank you so so much for sharing Meg!! I love your advice, to know your limits! I think we can all be reminded of that in general as busy, multitasking women! Also, I need to see this duck face reflex haha! Glad I was able to share your story and your shop and thanks again so much for making my blog pretty and creating amazing and perfectly fitting logos for me! Such a gift! Megan is offering 20% off any order you place with her between now and next wednesday the 11th. Just use the code "LITTLES" on her website,! You can also follow her in instagram @megfarr_. She takes beautiful photos as well! Thanks for supporting such a wonderful shop!!

Meet Liz // Munkstown

If you don't already know about this're welcome :) Liz has the perfect vision for this brand and in just the brief time that I got to know her, I'd say this lady and her husband have basics down to a tee and their confidence, hard work, dedication, and sense of style are so evident through this kids' line! Munkstown has it all! The comfort, simple and classic branding, attention to detail, and conviction to stick with their style and not constantly waiver with the ever changing trends. I LOVE that they found their niche and refuse to compromise, but at the same time are open to collaborations with other artists and companies to keep things fresh! Does it get any better?! This is a brand that celebrates the sporty, active, adventurous child. I'm proud to be supporting a brand that is so inspiring and authentic! My son, Ryder, is seen below sporting a Munkstown beanie and their "target tee". I LOVE the way it looks on him and he loves the way they feel. If it's soft enough to sleep in, my kids will rock it erryday ;) Take a peak...

I really couldn't be happier with the tee and beanie! There are so many more cute classic styles on the website ( that you MUST see!! The pocket tees are another fav of mine :)

I was fortunate enough to do a little Q & A with the lovely Liz that I'd love to share with you guys. She's totally rad! She's a hardworking mommy of two who also happens to have time to create and recreate a kids' clothing line :) She knows what she wants, and she goes for it! Gotta respect that! But clearly she has some great inspirations driving her as well! I'll let you read below to get to know her a little better :)

Liz and her precious girls!

How did Munkstown start?

Munkstown was originally my husband’s idea back in 2011. He has been involved with major retailers and had experience with the industry. He conceptualized Munkstown as a men’s line but then suggested the idea of me taking it over and turning it into a kid’s line.

Who or what has been your biggest inspiration along the way?
I think that our biggest inspiration has been John W. Nordstrom’s story of overcoming crazy adversity. His story from the late 1800’s is super inspiring and makes me feel like a wimp whenever I complain about anything related to our business. We love hearing stories of people working hard and making it work. We have been super inspired by Susan’s (Freshly Picked) story about bootstrapping her way to success. We were stoked when she bought some of our clothes our first season. We also think Tom Campion from Zumiez is a really inspiring guy as is Yvon Chouinard from Patagonia. Both of them are very competitive business leaders who have given back and done a lot for causes they care about.

What's one of the biggest things that you've learned from starting your own business?
Everything takes longer and is more expensive than you think it will be. We try to take a long-term approach with our business and avoid being too focused on chasing trends or getting caught up with what other companies are doing. We try not to do things that don’t feel authentic to us even if we know we will lose sales because of the decision.

What is something super quirky about you?
I almost never watch TV. In fact we don’t even have cable in our house.

If you could be BFFs with any celebrity who would you choose?
I think that Gwen Stefani and Christy Turlington are both cool in their own way and would probably be good friends and have your back as BFFs. I wouldn’t mind being friends with Ralph Lauren and being able to stay on his ranch and see all of his collections. To be honest I am not much of a celebrity stalker so I don’t really have a good answer. I need to do that more and get our clothes on their cute kids. Any celebs out there reading this with kids, hit us up and we will send you some clothes.
